13th May 2020, 12.46 - Message from the Executive Head Teacher

Dear Families, On behalf of all the staff at Lawnswood Campus I hope you and your families continue to be safe and well during this very challenging time. I have been waiting for the Prime Minister’s announcement in order to understand the Government’s strategy for the reopening of schools. I am sure that you have more questions than answers but we are now awaiting further guidance from the Department of Education over the next few weeks. We need to have time to review this and agree next steps with our Heads of Centres before we can give you any further information. Please be assured that the safety of our young people and staff are paramount and we will be ensuring this is a priority in our planning. We will continue to provide and support learning packs for home as well as a provision for the children of key workers and those requiring additional support in our schools each day. I know that at this stage we need to continue to follow all the national guidance, keep everyone safe and we encourage you to continue to support your child in understanding the importance of 2m social distancing and regular handwashing. I will be in touch again in a few weeks. Yours sincerely, Rachael Brown Executive Headteacher

30th March 2020, 12:30 - New Safeguarding Policy Guidance due to Covid-19. Exam boards: Pearson and AQA release important information.

20th March 2020, 11:51 - We are open and will continue to update this news feed regularly on any developments. From Monday 23rd March we will open to key worker pupils and those classified as vulnerable or having an Educational Health and Care Plan.

19th March 2020 - In light of the announcement on 18th March by the Prime Minister and Secretary of State we would like to confirm the current plans for students educated at Lawnswood Campus. We have met as a leadership team this morning and are making arrangements to remain open on Monday for students who have Education Health and Care Plans or those who are open to Social Care, and children whose parents are key workers. We will be providing work for all other students but will not be providing on site education. We will continue to communicate any changes with you, through our website and text messaging service.

In line with the governmental approach to provide support to all those who access free school meals, we are working on a solution to maintain this essential service and again will update you as soon as possible.

Please check this news post for regular updates.
